In order to consolidate the research findings of each Hakka academic institution and to promote better contact and communication between the Hakka Affairs Administration and the colleges and universities, on the 4th March the Hakka Affairs Council’s Minister, Ching-Chung Liu, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the three major Hakka Studies hubs in the country, including National Central University, National Chiao Tong University and National United University. This is to jointly construct a platform for resource exchange and policy advocacy, in the hope that it would establish a foundation for the sustainable development of government and academia cooperation, division of labor and Hakka policy establishment.

During his speech, Minister Liu indicated that the construction of this cooperation platformn could consolidate the Hakka Studies research   of each university. Not only can the researchers share research material, moreover, they can also utilize the government and academic cooperation method to conduct the promotion, application and archiving of the related research results, turning the knowledge into concrete actions. In the future, through the inter-ministry consolidation, Hakka Studies and research can shine through localization and globalization, solidifying Taiwan’s position as the Global Hakka Academic Research Center.

Hakka policy’s establishment can be in better touch with the needs of the Hakka public, so that the Hakka affair promotion can maintain sustainable development.
